Here's all of those species sorted out to show how they're related to each other. I know in the bird list that there's a very specific order to it. That leaves me worried that the other kingdoms and phyla, etc have specific orders that I've botched. I also know that the birds change every couple years as DNA tells us who is actually related to each other (I imagine a Jerry Springer reveal every year. . . "Falcons. . . the DNA tests says. . . hawks are not your cousins!"). That leaves me not too worried.

Putting it together has helped me better understand how things are related, and how they are different. Finding out coots aren't ducks, the cedars outside aren't actually cedars, possums are marsupials, not rodents - these are fun moments.
